Built in 1911, the Emery Theatre boasts some the most amazing acoustics you will ever lay ears on. It is the original home to the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and has a rich history filled with numerous famous performers from Gershwin to Bette Davis. Last used in the 90's, the Theatre has fallen into disuse. But on 11.11.11, the doors will open for a debut evening of music and art: a fundraising event that will breathe life back into The Emery.

VOLUNTEER EVENT OCTOBER 29: Help prep the Emery for debut!
What: Volunteers needed to assist with preparing the Emery Theatre for the opening event on 11.11.11. Tasks to include general cleaning, decorative prepping, painting, envelope stuffing, etc.

VOLUNTEER EVENT NOVEMBER 11: "The Show Must Go On!"

Volunteers needed to assist with the show on 11.11.11. Most shifts average 6 hours. Each "team"
will be expected to attend a "pre-planning orientation meeting". All volunteers will be expected to
dress appropriately (all black – identification badges will be provided).

TEAM "PRE-PARTY": 16 volunteers needed
Do you have the kind of smile that makes people feel welcome? Do you like greeting others? Do you like mingling? Do
you like helping to make sure others enjoy their evening?
What: Volunteers needed to assist with guests at a pre-party cocktail event. Responsibilities will range from
welcoming people to pre-party events, to making sure guest have what they need, to ensuring trash cans are
monitored.

TEAM "EXTERIOR": 8 volunteers needed
Are you more of a "behind-the-scenes" kind of person? Do you enjoy being outdoors? Do you like being organized? Would
you like to help ensure that our guests are given good direction and know where they need to be?
What: Volunteers needed to assist with guests while out-of-doors. This includes: assisting with valet services,
directing and/or escorting guests between locations, maintaining a well-lit and comfortable out-of-doors
experience for guests.

TEAM "TICKETING": 12 volunteers needed
You are organized. You are good with numbers and money. You have the kind of cheerfulness and enthusiasm that will
make our guests feel welcome. You enjoy make good first impressions – after all, you will be the first person our guests
meet.
What: Volunteers needed to assist with ticketing and welcoming of all guests, handing out guest tickets and
welcome packages and selling walk-in tickets.

TEAM "EMERY": 20 volunteers needed
Would you enjoy greeting guests and warmly welcoming them to the Theatre? Would you enjoy providing them with
information about the Theatre (training will be provided)? Would you enjoy assisting within the walls of the Theatre to
ensure that guests have a safe and enjoyable evening?
What: Volunteers needed to assist with general needs of guests while in the Emery Theatre. This includes
seating ushers, greeters and providing general information

TEAM "Production": 5-8 volunteers needed
Are you detail-oriented and enjoy a fast-paced environment? Interested in assisting with the show's production and the
show's participants?
What: Volunteers needed to assist production manager with keeping track of show participants, relaying
messages, and making sure all production aspects run smoothly. Some theater or similar experience preferable.
Will require attendance to at least one rehearsal prior to event.
